The village of Exochiko has 170 residents, mainly engaged in agriculture. It is built on an altitude of 50 metres, 2 kilometres from the sea, 4 kilometres from the city of Filiatra and 76 kilometres from Kalamata. It was founded in the middle of the 19th century by the citizens of Arcadia and was used to be called Katsimbalis up to 1961.
